The Breakout CD Cover
"The Breakout" CD is a design I did for a friend of his first rap recordings. The brief was to create an image that communicated him looking back at himself, having brocken out from his past and who he previously was. The gentleman depicted is the rap artist himself. The photos were taken in stages, he literally clean shaved himself to create a stronger depiction of breaking out from himself.
I chose turquoise as a fresh punchy colour, that represented growth through its green base colour, and turquoise's vibrancy depicts the freedom from one being ste free from oneself, as "The Breakout" communicates.
The design is simple, clean and strong, which emphasises the CD's message.
It was a priviledge to do this design and I have great faith in the artist.
