Carols By Candlelight
"carols by Candlelight", the common name for most carol events is timeless. As long as it integrity is kept intact it can continue to be a charming pull for both the die hard romantics and heavy traditionalists. I have done this design twice over the years. The first one can be seen further down the page, and here I went with a simple design that didn't use too much "christmasy" colours or pictures. Instead i used the vector stars to refer to a starry night. The design is simple and yet catchy as it stands out amongst the many overdone carols designs. The more recent design is seen on the top right where I used flourescent lights instead of candles and bokeh to add to the dreamy christmas feel. The flourecent light bulbs are a recent trend of having globes bare and hanging down in decor and so as a modern twist I used a photo of this instead of traditional candles. the painted calligraphic typeface used forms the cornerstone of the design that communicates a relaxed vibe, and so is more welcoming than traditional designs.
The designs were made into business card invites as well as posters and newspaper adverts, which the design worked well in all these various printed media.
